Sha’Kurra Evans (’18 sociology), a McNair Scholar, Multicultural Vision Program scholar and first generation college student, plans to transition into a doctoral program to teach others all she’s learned.
First-generation graduate Jacqueline Garcia (’18 political science) will receive her bachelor’s degree from Iowa State University and wrap up her first year of law school at Drake University in Des Moines.
Malik Burton (’18 speech communication) is graduating as a campus leader in diversity and inclusion efforts and a passionate advocate with plans to improve higher education through social justice.
For Bilal Baig, science and service have been an integral part of his college experience, a passion he plans to build on after graduation.
