Jonathan Sturm, Morrill professor in the Department of Music and Theatre, will perform a solo with the Central Iowa Symphony on Saturday, Oct. 8.  The concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the Ames City Auditorium.

The concert “A World of Voices” will feature Sturm on viola and Julie Fox Henson on violin.

Additional details from the Des Moines Symphony include, “Our season begins in glorious style with a smorgasbord of music from around the world by composers whose voices are rich with the influences of their homelands.  From the colorful Cambodian folk tunes of Chinary Ung’s Water Rings Overture, to the sensuous rhythms of Piazolla’s Milonga Del Angel, this is a program that celebrates diversity music. To top it off, we welcome soloists Julie Fox Henson and Jonathan Sturm for a performance of one of Mozart’s most beautiful works for soloists and orchestra.”
