Associate Professor of Music Christina Svec’s co-authored article titled “Elementary General Music: Perceptions and Aspirations of Preservice Music Teachers” has been accepted for publication in the Journal of Music Teacher Education (JMTE).
The Journal of Music Teacher Education is a peer-reviewed journal sponsored by NAfME, the National Association for Music Education (formerly MENC), and SMTE, the Society for Music Teacher Education. The journal disseminates research of any methodology related to music teacher education, and is considered the premier journal in music education related to music teacher preparation.
Svec specializes in elementary general music and secondary choral methods. Her research interests include research methodology, research pedagogy, and singing voice development. She has presented at conferences locally, nationally, and internationally.
