Lucia Suarez recently had her work, Dancing Bahia: Essays on Afro-Brazilian Dance, Education, Memory, and Race, published in Portuguese translation by the prestigious Federal University of Bahia Press.
The translated title is: Dançando Bahia: ensaios sobre danças afro-brasileiras, educação, memoria e raça.
The work has also been awarded the Special citation for the 2019 Dance Studies Association de la Torre Bueno© Award.
