Leslie Ginder, student and employer relations coordinator in Liberal Arts and Sciences Career Services, was selected to present at the Career Professionals of Iowa (CPI) conference July 14-15, 2022. Her presentation is titled “Ableism, Disclosure, and Accommodations: Action and Information for Career Services Professionals.”

The CPI conference is an opportunity to share best practices and emerging trends in career services among professionals in Iowa and adjacent states. This year’s theme is People, Purpose & Passion: The Pathway to Tomorrow.

Leslie’s presentation will focus on ableism, accessibility, and inclusion in career services. Participants will learn to identify ableism in their organizations and offices and identify first steps in addressing ableism and exclusion/inaccessibility of services. Participants will also get a “behind the curtain” look at the disclosure and accommodation processes from a former employee accommodation coordinator at a large university.
