Stacey Weber-Fève, associate professor of French, has an article that will be published in the fall 2021 issue of
Journal of Cinema and Media Studies. This publication is the highest-rated journal (internationally) in the field of Film Studies.

In this work, “Belonging and Distantiation: Reading Marjane Satrapi and Vincent Paronnaud’s Poulet aux prunes in Relation to Cinéma-monde,” Weber-Fève analyzes Satrapi and Paronnaud’s first live-action feature film through the lens of “cinéma-monde,” thus bringing Iran for the first time into the mapping of the “Francosphère” while also adding a temporal dimension (nostalgia) to the existing areas of “cinéma-monde” critical investigation (borders, movement, language, and lateral connections).
