“The War of the Wheels”

Jeremy Withers, assistant professor of English, recently published "The War of the Wheels," a new book with Syracuse University Press that explores H.G. Wells’s fascination with bicycles and their role in Wells’s life and literature.

Reviewed in The Washington Post, "The War of the Wheels" is a product of Withers’s research interests in science fiction and the representation and function of bicycles in literature.

Withers is also the co-editor of Culture on Two Wheels: The Bicycle in Literature and on Film (University of Nebraska Press, 2016).
