The Center for Survey Statistics and Methodology (CSSM) at ISU and the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) were recently awarded the 2023 Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Units (CESU) Project Award for collaborative efforts on the National Resources Inventory (NRI). The NRI is a nationwide survey conducted by NRCS and CSSM, and the purpose of the survey is to assess status, condition, and trends of soil, water, and related resources on nonfederal lands.
NRI survey estimates are used to support the development of US agricultural and environmental policy and program implementation. The NRI is a longitudinal survey with a history extending back to 1982.
