Dean Adams earns Fulbright U.S. Scholar Award

Dean Adams, Distinguished Professor in the Department of Ecology, Evolution, and Organismal Biology, has been named a 2022-23 Fulbright U.S. Scholar. Adams will conduct research at the Institute of Biological Evolution (associated with the Universitat Pompeu Fabra) in Barcelona, Spain, as part of this honor.

Adams and his collaborators will investigate the degree to which morphological evolution is repeatable, by measuring patterns of morphological evolution between habitats in multiple lizard taxa found across the Mediterranean basin.

Adams will travel to Barcelona in January 2023 and continue these studies until April 2023.

The Fulbright Program is the most widely recognized and prestigious international exchange program in the world, supported for more than half a century by the American people through an annual appropriation from the U.S. Congress and by the people of partner nations.

The program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.
