Ryan D. Sheeler publishes second book about Ritchie Valens

Ryan D. Sheeler, lecturer in the Department of Music and Theatre, recently published his second book about famed musician Ritchie Valens.

Published by Centerstream Publishing and Hal Leonard, Inc., “Ritchie Valens Songbook: Hits and B-Sides,” is the result of years of research which involved working closely with the Valens Family.

The book has new transcriptions to Valens’ hits and B-side songs that were released on the Del-Fi label from 1958-1960.

Sheeler teaches History of Rock n’ Roll at Iowa State University.
