Jeremy Best book recognized as one of “Ten Outstanding Books in Mission Studies Intercultural Theology and World Christianity for 2021”

A book published by Jeremy Best, assistant professor in the Department of History, was recently named one of “Ten Outstanding Books in Mission Studies, Intercultural Theology, and World Christianity for 2021” by the International Bulletin of Missionary Research (IBMR). The announcment was made in the journal’s April 2022 issue.

The book, “Heavenly Fatherland: German Missionary Culture and Globalization in the Age of Empire,” was published in 2021 by University of Toronto Press.

The IBMR is one of the premier journals of mission studies and international Christianity. The journal is produced by the Overseas Ministries Studies Center at Princeton Theological Seminary in Princeton, New Jersey.
