Janci Bronson, associate teaching professor in the Department of Music and Theatre, has been awarded a Miller Open Education Mini Grant.
The grant program encourages instructor innovation in adopting and creating open educational resources such as textbooks, syllabi, videos, software and other educational materials that are free, accessible to all students and carry legal permission for open use.
Bronson earned the grant for her proposal, “Instructional Videos for Class Piano Courses.”
The implementation of open educational resources at Iowa State University has saved students more than half a million dollars during the 2020/2021 academic year. These free educational resources not only save students money, but also increase educational equity, benefiting marginalized students and those from underserved socioeconomic groups even more than their peers.
