Daniel Krier publishes study comparing Shakespearean kings to current leadership

Daniel Krier, professor of sociology, recently published his study, “Shakespeare’s Plays of Deranged Authority: The King’s Three Bodies,” in the journal Fast Capitalism. In his paper, Krier discusses how Shakespeare’s history play, “King John,” which depicts the problems that arise when legitimate political authority is deranged, has contemporary relevance, especially following the U.S. elections in 2016.
