Gary Wells, Wendy and Mark Stavish Chair in Social Sciences and Distinguished Professor of Psychology, was selected as the 2020 recipient of the American Psychological Association’s Award for Distinguished Contributions to Research in Public Policy. The award honors an individual who has made a distinguished empirical and/or theoretical contribution to psychological research in public policy, either through a single extraordinary achievement or a lifetime of work dedicated to informing public policy through psychological understanding.

The award will be presented to Wells at the 2020 APA Convention in Washington, D.C. this summer.
