SACNAS (Society for Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science) announces the election of four individuals to its national Board of Directors, including the reelection of Dr. Corey Welch, Program Director, STEM Scholars Program at Iowa State University.
“We are excited to welcome on the new board members. They bring a wealth of experience from their professional backgrounds and from their involvement with SACNAS over the years,” said SACNAS President Dr. Lino Gonzalez.
All four new board members will take office in January 2019.

- Monica Ramirez Basco, PhD, Adjunct Associate Professor, University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas
- Corey Welch, PhD (Northern Cheyenne), Director, STEM Scholars Program, Iowa State

- Ana Gabriela Vergara, Pharmaceutical Sciences PhD Candidate, Washington State
University
