Jonathan Sturm awarded 2018 Leopold LaFosse Outstanding Studio Teacher Award

Jonathan Sturm, professor of music, was awarded the 2018 Leopold LaFosse Outstanding Studio Teacher Award. The annual award, presented by the Iowa String Teachers Association, goes to private string teachers who have made a lasting impact upon students in their private studios through their teaching and mentorship. Dr. Sturm has been cited for the number of his students who have won competitions, performed with orchestras in the Midwest, won prominent chairs in the Iowa All-State orchestra, or graduated to attend major music schools over the past 28 years.
